The original edition of this book having been suppressed by the Heads of houses of Oxford University, because of certain objectionable statements contained in the Preface, Testimonia, and Catalogue of Dodwell's works, p. iv-xxvii, the editor secured permission to circulate his book after reprinting the title page, the dedication, and introductory notes in the form prefixed as p. 1-iv, so as to eliminate the objectionable material
